June 1st Updates On Our Studio Re-opening 

As we approach June 1st ,  and the start of reopening Delaware, I am excited for everyone to return to their mat and seeing all of you again. I have missed all of you and personally want to thank everyone who has donated and continued their memberships while going through this difficult time. Below you will find information on how we hope to keep you safe, how the classes will be structured, and you’re responsibilities. 

 

Our Studio Policy 

 

  • Teachers will clean and disinfect the studio prior to the next class entering.

  • Teachers will wear facemask at all time 

  • Teachers will not provide assists at this time 

  • Hand Sanitizer will be stationed at the front desk, rear of the studio and in the bathroom.

  • No blankets, blocks or straps will be available for students use. You are encouraged to bring your own.

  • All classes are maximum of 9 people.

  • All classes will be non-heated.

 

 

Classes for Serenity - 

 

  • Class schedule will be posted on Mindbody for a two week period. 

  • Classes can be attended in person and/or available as a live Zoom class. 

  • Registration for attending class at the studio must occur one hour prior to class starting. 

  • Registration for attending Zoom classes must occur thirty minutes prior to class start time. Upon registering students will receive a link via email. 

  • All classes, regardless of whether you are attending either in person or on Zoom, will be charged either through drop in rate, class card, or auto-pay.

 

  • All current auto-pay members will continue to have full access to our online studio, and Zoom at no charge, until June 30th. All non-auto pay members may access our online studio for a monthly fee. To view click here VIP Membership

  • Anyone who had a class card expire while the studio was closed (March 18th – May 31st) please email alyson@balancewithalyson.com prior to June 30th to have your class card reactivated. Request received after June 30th will not be honored. 

  • If anyone is interested in a semi private class up to three people. Students receive 20% off the private rate of $100. Semi Private would be $80.00 

 

 

Policies & Procedures for Students

 

  • Students must wear face mask while entering and leaving  Serenity Yoga Studio. 

  • Please maintain social distancing whenever possible. 

  • Please utilize cubbies that are identified for storing personal effects.

  • If student is feeling sick, please stay home and join us live online. 

  • Please bring blocks, straps or mats if needed. Studio will not be providing.

  • The studio will be locked and re-opened 10 minutes prior to class. 

  • Due to very limited in studio class sizes, students who sign up for but fail to show for any class held in studio, no refund will be issued. If you are an auto-pay member you will be charged the price of a drop in. 

 

 

 

I am hopeful these guidelines and procedures will be temporary and we soon will be able to return to normal. Until then I look forward to omming with you on your mat.

The word “yoga” means “union” and refers to the spiritual union between the mind and the body. By controlling the breath and holding the body in steady poses or “asanas”, yoga creates harmony within the body. Asanas are specifically designed to sculpt the body, release muscular tension, and tone internal organs. By linking breath with movement, yoga strengthens the mind-body connection. Regular participants benefit from less stress and anxiety, a centered mind, and an enhanced sense of well being. Health benefits include lower blood pressure, increased strength and flexibility, better stress management, and long-term weight loss. Regular yoga practice at Serenity Yoga will cultivate mindfulness and presence for a healthier lifestyle.

All skill levels are welcome at Serenity Yoga. If you are new to yoga, this is a great place to begin your practice in Middletown. Bring your mat, an open mind, and a willingness to discover new possibilities. We recommend wearing athletic clothing that allows you to move comfortably. Our experienced instructors provide assists to support your practice and help you move freely into the full expression of each pose. You are welcome to try any class at Serenity Yoga. Please be aware that the pacing may be a bit faster in our hot vinyasa flow class and our instructors do not always teach modifications. We encourage you to do as much as you feel comfortable doing and know that you can take child’s pose at any time.

Our skillful instructors help experienced yogis go deeper in their practice while respecting individual needs. We encourage all yogis to move towards a mindful practice that balances the physicality of asanas with breath work and meditation. Whether you are new to yoga or have made it a part of your lifestyle for many years, we invite you to enter the studio with a beginner’s mind and be open to the possibilities of your practice.

At Serenity Yoga, we practice the intention of yoga by treating everyone with respect and love. Our instructors have a diverse background in yogic philosophy, structural alignment, body sculpt, injury recovery, and nutrition. We are passionate about helping students deepen their mind/body connection, detoxify their bodies, heal from past physical injuries and emotional trauma, and empower personal growth.

Serenity Yoga is a welcoming community for beginning and experienced yogis in Middletown. We offer a variety of different yoga styles that are perfect for students of all skill levels and body types.
